You’re not failing at motherhood.
You’re overwhelmed and that makes sense.
If you know better but still yell and wish you hadn’t…
If you’re doing all the things and still feel on edge, short-tempered, or guilty – nothing has gone wrong.
There’s a reason calm feels so hard to access, even when you’re trying.
Get a gentle explanation for what’s happening underneath your reactions so staying calm doesn’t feel impossible anymore.
When Motherhood Feels Like Too Much
Most moms don’t struggle because they don’t care enough, try hard enough, or know enough.
They struggle because they’re carrying too much mental load, too many responsibilities, too many expectations – and not enough space to breathe.
When your system is overloaded, patience disappears. Calm feels out of reach. And the smallest things can feel overwhelming.
That doesn’t mean you’re doing this wrong. It means you’re human.
A Different Way to Think About Calm
You don’t need fixing. You don’t need more discipline strategies. You don’t need to try harder.
What most moms actually need is clarity: clarity about what’s happening in their brain and nervous system, clarity about why guilt and reactivity show up, clarity about what actually helps calm return.
Calm doesn’t come from effort. It comes from understanding.
A Gentle Place to Start
If you’re feeling confused, stuck, or frustrated with yourself, start here:
👋 Hi, I’m Melissa!
Your calm mom companion
Mom of two who’s been through the yelling, the guilt, and the late night “am I messing them up?” spiral more times than I can count. I get it because I’ve lived it. And I also know the relief of finally feeling proud of how I show up as a mom, even when life is messy.
That’s why I started Rethink Motherhood. Not because I have it all figured out (spoiler: no mom does 🙃), but because I’m a certified life coach and mentor who has learned, practiced, and now teaches science-backed tools that actually help moms stay grounded and show up how they want to. Think of me as your calm companion: someone who deeply understands the challenges of motherhood and can guide you with proven strategies to shift your reactions, release the guilt, and step into the mom you truly want to be.
Patience? My son’s Montessori teacher once said, “you have more patience than Gandhi.” Depth? My aunt joked, “After I hung out with Melissa for a couple hours, I felt like I had 12 college credits!” And my own therapist even admitted she and her colleagues are intimidated by me because they feel like I’m more well-read than them (yes, really!)
But what matters most is this: I don’t just collect knowledge, I live it. I use everything I’ve learned to help moms like you find calm in the chaos and feel good about your parenting again. Motherhood isn’t about perfection – it’s about presence. And I’d love to walk alongside you as you discover the calmer, prouder version of you.
Supportive Resources for Different Seasons
Every mom needs different support at different times. If you’re looking for something more specific, these resources may help:
When You Need Alone Time

A guide to help you figure out what’s draining your energy and let go of what no longer serves you.
When Yelling Is the Pain Point
Support for moms who want to respond more calmly and feel better about how they show up.
Imagine what’s possible for you…
What if you could wake up feeling recharged and ready to face the day? Picture yourself handling your child’s meltdowns with calm and confidence and having compassion for yourself even when you still don’t always get it right. It may seem like a far-off dream, but it’s closer than you think.
“Working with Melissa was the best investment I’ve made so far in my motherhood and parenting journey. I became so consumed with what I “should” be doing based on everyone else’s opinions (including social media’s) that I had silenced my own intuition and mom-gut.
Melissa helped me find my confidence again and helped me realize how common what I was going through was.
Ultimately, I realized that therapy is a good place to go and talk about your feelings, but coaching is where you actually learn how to change them. When you’re no longer overwhelmed, angry, or stressed all the time, life becomes so much better.”
– Tiffany
“Working with Melissa has been such an incredible investment! She helped me reframe my negative thoughts around my parenting and gave me the tools I need to manage my emotions when things feel hard.
I feel so much more chilled out in my day-to-day parenting – I’m less worried and less hard on myself.
I feel like I know what is important to me now and taking this time for myself has felt very nourishing!”
– Caroline

Why working with someone makes all the difference
I know firsthand how challenging it is to do it all alone. I tried for years to figure things out by myself – getting some results but feeling stuck at times. When I finally decided to work with someone else, things started changing so much faster. Why? Because having support gives you clarity, accountability, and guidance to help you stay on track, spot blind spots, and move forward with confidence.
You don’t have to do this alone. Imagine having someone to help you create a clear plan, support you through the tough moments, and celebrate your progress. I work one-on-one with moms like you to help them feel calm, in control, and able to make time for themselves—without guilt.
Imagine Your Motherhood, Transformed
This isn’t just wishful thinking – it’s absolutely possible for you. Working together, we’ll turn these hopes into your reality, helping you step into the motherhood you’ve always wanted. Imagine the peace, connection, and pride in knowing you’re showing up in a way that you love.
